A few weeks back I had the privilege of shooting Jeremy Loops show at the Barnyard in Rivonia. Always a fun and energetic show from these guys.
I spent a few hours across two days at Openroom Studios documenting Ruby Gill recording a new single. It is always inspiring seeing how an artist creates and this time was no exception. Ruby has a drive and enthusiasm which I have not come across in remarkably long time. I expect that she will go one to do great things in her own quietly confident way. I hope to get a chance to work with her again. […]
I first met Ruby Gill a few months back a friend’s party where she played a few songs which caught the attention of all the guests, she is an amazing talent and definitely someone to look out for. She played a set at Amuse Cafe in Linden late last week, I decided to shoot a few quick frames. Here are three of those frames. She is currently recording at Openroom so expect some great things soon.

I shot a few images for Texx and the City at Sowing the Seeds this last weekend… Shortstraw were too cool.
Sawagi and Go Barefoot opened for Shortstraw at the Youthless Album Launch. Here are a few images from the night.
I remember the first time I saw Shortstraw play, it was at the old Bohemian (Auckland Park/Richmond), I’m pretty certain that was at least six years ago, in that time Shortstraw have proven that there were more than that Keanu Reeves song. Last friday they filled the the Bassline in Newtown for the launch of their latest release ‘Youthless’. Somehow this was my first time shooting the band, I picked a good time as the guys put a lot of […]
Last month I got to spend a few hours shooting photographs of the guys from The Plastics at Openroom Productions whilst they were recording their new album. I didn’t get to shoot as much as I would have liked as it was their last day recording in Johannesburg. Will hopefully get to work with the guys some time in the future.
It’s been a while since I last shot Joburg Day. This year I was lucky enough to shoot the Gangs of Ballet performance… Not much else to say except these guys are ALWAYS worth watching so if you can get to a gig of theirs.
This year’s Converse Get Out of the Garage showcased some great bands but for me Emma Hearne were easily my favourite of the ten bands. It’s been what seems like an inordinate amount of time since I’ve heard a band with so much potential. The mix of pop synth, acoustic guitar and fragile vocals left me smiling long after their set had finished. I really hope to work with them in the future. Onward to the photos. […]
