A few photos from this last weekend’s Oppikoppi Festival. Isochronous are always a good band to watch and definitely worth checking out.
This week I was SUPER happy about shooting Ashtray Electric at Studio1, I last shot the guys whilst they were recording their latest release Measured In Falls late last year. These are some of my favourite photos I’ve shot this year so I really hope you guys like them… It’s always fun shooting a band I really love and more when you have the guys at Openroom Studios doing the sound because they’re pretty awesome at what they do.
About a month ago I shot a few portraits of Darren from Zebra & Giraffe, for those of you who don’t know Zebra & Giraffe check them out here. We headed out to a nearby park and just shot a few quick portraits. I did not want to get to fancy with the lighting so I used a beauty dish for the main light (400W Elinchrom Quadra) and a Nikon SB-80DX for as a fill light. Please check out the […]
This week Thursday saw The Parlotones play Studio1, their popularity was immediately obvious driving into the MNET parking lot, the normally ample parking was taken over by the ‘Parlie Army’ as their fans call themselves. 161 people packed into Studio 1, a new record for the show. The Parlotones always put on a good show and this time was no exception. The guys played stripped down versions of their songs which was pretty interesting when you compare it to the […]
This week Studio 1 featured one of my favourite bands… Dead Alphabet. I first saw them in 2008 and was taken by their energy on stage. Since then I’ve seen them a few times but it’s never been enough… So when I heard that they were playing Studio 1 I was proper excited to see them, never mind getting to shoot them. The guys released their second EP, The Kill, toward the end of last year and it features five […]
This is the first time I’ve shot Lonehill Estate, was really surprised by their energy and performance as a whole which in turn made shooting them a lot of fun, will hopefully get another chance to shoot them in the future.
Thursday saw the launch of the new look Studio 1, Taxi Violence and Lonehill Estate were guests on the show. These are a few shots of Taxi Violence’s accoustic set from the show. Taxi Violence are playing a bunch of unplugged shows at the moment and definitely worth checking out. Check their website for gig details I’ll post the Lonehill Estate photos later this weekend.
Last week Thursday The Pretty Blue Guns played a short set on Studio 1 to promtote their second album Shed Your Skin. As always it was super fun to shoot at Studio 1 because the sound is amazing and because the lighting is insanely awesome to shoot in. These are a few from the night, I processed a few in black and white just to mix things up a bit. Hope you like.
Last week Thursday the Graeme Watkins Project played a set on MK’s Studio 1. I was lucky enought to tag along and shoot a bit of the performance. The guys played with an energy on stage that a lot of local bands could learn from and was super fun to watch and definitely worth cheching out if you are like me and enjoy watching (good) bands. Their debut album launch is taking place this coming Wednesday (9 March 2011) at […]
